Christchurch’s Botanic Gardens are the backbone of our reputation as “The Garden City”! Take a stroll through the summer blooms before stopping at Ilex, an oasis of delicious coffee and food in the heart of the greenery.
- Hit The Farmers’ Markets
Soak up a casual country atmosphere without leaving the city! Enjoy the charming Christchurch Farmers’ Market every Saturday from 9am to 1pm – you’ll find fresh fruit and vegetables alongside superb coffee and other delights such as ‘Posh Porridge” and handmade macaroons! Venture a little further to The Lyttleton Markets, held Saturdays from 10am to 1pm – enjoy meats, cheeses and other delcious specialties while overlooking the harbour.
- Go Beach Hopping!
A recipe for the perfect day: Surf, Sand and Sunshine. Luckily, we’ve got some of the best spots in New Zealand for just that. Discover your favourite new surfing spot at Taylor’s Mistake, wander New Brighton Pier with a scoop of hot chips or enjoy the sprawling golden sands of Sumner Beach.
