The Garden city is doing its best to outshine other New Zealand cities this summer. There is so much on during the summer months in Christchurch for locals and visitors alike to enjoy.
If you are a music lover you are in for a treat, Six60 is popping in to sing a few songs and maybe tell a few jokes along the way. Fan’s of street artists are also among those who will be treated to a spectacle, the World Buskers Festival is making an appearance this January.

1. Musical stylings of Six60
Landing at Christchurch’s Horncastle Arena – Six60 is bringing their The New Waves World Tour with special guests Nico Vinz and KINGS for one night only. If you are planning to see these Dunedin expats on Friday 9th March get in soon, as accommodation is selling out very fast.
2. The 25th World Buskers Festival
Entering its 25th year The World Buskers Festival is one of the cities most loved festivals to date. 4.The Great Kiwi Beer Festival
Landing at Hagley Park on 27 January 2018 The Great Kiwi Beer Festival is ‘Excitement on Tap’! Bringing together a mixture of the best brewers and most loved beers on tap, it is a roar of a day for all attending. This great day out also features the music of some of New Zealand’s most loved entertainers including but not limited to Dave Dobbyn, Swamp Thing and Sola Rosa. Crowne Plaza Christchurch is a great option for those attending this festival, only a short five minute walk away, you don’t have to worry about taxis or designated drivers, just enjoy a leisurely wander back.
5. Nostalgia Festival
The Nostalgia Festival takes place at Ferrymead Heritage Park – a 1900’s replica township. Guest can enjoy the unique setting the township offers, as well as arts and crafts, food, drink and music. Hop aboard the steam train and take in the beauty of the Heathcote Valley. A real blast from the past in every sense. 6. Electric Avenue Music Festival
Music lovers are getting spoilt this summer in the garden city. Another great music festival taking place in Hagley Park on 24 February 2018 is The Electric Avenue Music Festival. The line up for 2018’s festival is a mix of local and international talent that includes Dizzee Rascal, Too Many Zooz and Chronix, to name a few. Make sure you have your tickets for this great event sorted early.

7. Sparks in the Park
Another great event taking place in Hagley Park on 17 February 2018 is Sparks in the Park. The Christchurch Symphony Orchestra will take to the stage to wow the crowds; featuring popular pieces from In the Hall of the Mountain King by Grieg and The Superman March by Williams. End the night with a bang with a dazzling fireworks display that will delights guests of all ages. This is a wonderful event not to be missed. 8. Night Noodle Markets Christchurch
Enjoy the authentic hustle and bustle of an Asian pop up food market this February in Christchurch. The Night Noodle Markets are running in Hadley Park North from the 9th-18th of February 2018.
